Super-Easy Homemade Face Masks for Glowing Skin!

Oh face masks, let us count the ways we love thee. In sheet form, in splash form, in clay form, and now we’re adding in DIY form because sometimes we’re too lazy to get to a store or wait for our online shipment to arrive!

These DIY masks can work wonders for a variety of skin issues—from dry, cracked cheeks and dull foreheads to acne breakouts. Try to use organic ingredients whenever possible, as the skin on your face is thinner than other parts of your body and can soak up toxins much more easily. So, when you want to give your skin some TLC but don’t want to wander farther than your kitchen, try this favorite of mine for tightening and glowing skin…

The DIY Lemon, Honey, Olive oil mask…

Honey is a natural antibacterial and anti-infammatory. It absorbs impurities from the pores and the skin. Ancient beauties used honey and milk on their skin regularly to keep their complexion looking young, radiant and smooth. You can use honey as a wash, toner or mask. And you can mix it with so many other ingredients depending on your needs (apples, pumpkin, papaya. yogurt). It’s quite versatile.

Lemon brightens and exfoliates. It’s great for acne prone skin, age and sun spots or uneven skin tone. It is also a natural source of vitamin C and rich in alpha hydroxy acids.

Olive oil isn’t just good for you’re insides, it’s good for your outsides too. It’s no secret that a diet high in Olive Oils from Spain will help you shine from the inside out. But when applied directly to the skin, the powerful antioxidants help restore the skin’s elasticity and gives you a gorgeous glow.

Olive oil contains four major antioxidants which allow it to help cleanse, moisturize and protect our skin: Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Polyphenols and Phytosterols. Each of these powerful antioxidants help to neutralize the free radicals that cause skin damage and prevent them from doing harm. The lipid profile of Olive Oil is very similar to that of our skin, so it works harmoniously to add moisture and deliver much needed vitamins and nutrients to our pores.

Here’s how to make the DIY Honey/ Lemon/Olive Oil Mask:

  • Squeeze 1 tablespoon of lemon (organic is always better) into a bowl
  • Add 1 tbsp of honey (0rganic, raw, natural )
  • Add 1 tbsp of olive oil (organic is always better)
  • Mix it with a spoon until it’s a liquid consistency. Apply it all over a clean face avoiding eye area.
  • Also make sure that your hair is pulled back away from your face as the mask is rather sticky! Leave on for 15-20 min and rinse off.

I would love to hear your results!
