Let's learn a few things from the Koreans and how they take care of their skin! It's never too early to start is lesson number one!
Sun Protection: For one thing sunscreen is non-negotiable in my house on a daily basis. This is the biggie! Years of not taking the proper steps to ensure skin protection or opting to visit a tanning booth may have felt good at the time, but may have permanently wreaked havoc on the skin. Practicing other sun-safe behaviors—wearing hats, sunglasses, and protective clothing, seeking shade, and limiting time in direct sunlight between 10 A.M. and 2 P.M. (when the sun's rays are the strongest). Your skin will thank you years to come.
Start a healthy skin care routine early: Don’t wait for your first wrinkle to show up to start taking care of your skin. Develop a proper skin care routine at an early age and stick to it. Proper cleansing, toning, and hydrating should start in the early teens, with changes to daily skin care rituals conforming to your skin's needs over time. Just like brushing your teeth day and night, good skin care rituals need to be done every day, non-negotiable – it’s going to make the difference in whether or not you need to begin an “anti-aging” routine at 30 or 50. So many people ask us around 30-40 if they should start using anti-aging products now. Don't wait until you see signs of aging, add in a topical antioxidant serum may help reverse some early signs of damage or under eye cream and get ahead of those pesky wrinkles.
Remove makeup before bed: Don’t let laziness get the best of you. Remove your makeup to not only prevent breakouts and clogged pores, but to get in the habit of performing a proper skin care routine before bed – a necessary habit to carry with you if you want good skin throughout your life!
Hydrate even if your skin isn’t dry: Even if you have oily skin you can develop fine lines – why? Because your skin is dehydrated. You may not need a heavy moisturizer, but you still need an oil-free serum or moisturizer to hydrate your skin.
Focus on leading a healthy lifestyle: Beauty begins from the inside out. Focus on making healthier choices at an early age to develop good habits. Eat healthy, natural and non-processed foods, drink a lot of water, and exercise regularly.
Don’t be afraid to invest: New shoes last a season your skin is FOREVER! It’s more important to invest in good skin care product more so than a fashion item or the next technological gadget. And when it comes to skincare you do pay for what you get. Expensive rare herbal ingredients and advanced patented technology doesn't come cheap.
Don't go overboard either with your skincare. We see too many people that are constantly changing products and switch them up too fast. There’s a method to changing up products if you're looking to solve any sensitivities. If your skincare regimen isn’t giving you results you want, simply change one product at a time. Use a new product for at least 4 days before adding another new one into your routine. Go slow, especially with our products which are potent and powerful.
